Kevin is like a little boy living in a middle aged man’s body. He used to work full time at a telecommunications company. The sales job kept him very busy, but eventually he began asking himself: “Is this the kind of lifestyle I want?” After struggling with this question for a long time, he finally decided to temporarily quit his job.
The origin of Fuqi begins with two Taiwanese and a French guy: Kevin, Amily, and Thierry. Thierry came to Taiwan due to a stopover from Thailand. Who knew that he would fall in love with the place! Thierry met Amily on one of several flights back to Taiwan. Amily just happened to be a native of Tainan and she was so proud to hear a French person speaking so passionately about her hometown. It was at this time that Thierry was inspired to establish a backpacker’s hostel—a comfortable, layed-back kind of place where people could come together to make friends and share their experiences in Tainan.
…And so, Fuqi was born.
It’s not easy to make a dream come true. Fuqi would not have been possible without the help of Kevin, Sindy, and Jason.
